Target Audience: Mental health professionals, psychologists, counsellors, social workers, and professionals seeking practical, evidence-based tools to enhance therapeutic flexibility and effectiveness. This three-day intensive training provides a comprehensive yet focused introduction to Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
1. Explain the theoretical foundations and philosophical roots of ACT.
2. Identify and apply the six core processes of psychological flexibility.
3. Differentiate ACT from traditional CBT approaches.
4. Conduct functional assessments and develop ACT-informed case formulations.
5. Apply ACT techniques including mindfulness, defusion, and values clarification.
6. Use metaphors and experiential exercises in therapy sessions.
7. Practice key skills through role-play, discussion, and supervised feedback.
